TOPBUXUS Pheromone Refill for Box Tree Moth Trap - 2 capsules
Refill for all Boxwood Moth Traps
The TOPBUXUS pheromone refill can be used in all funnel-shaped moth traps. For use in the TOPBUXUS Moth Trap and other moth traps: place 1 capsule in the basket in the lid of the moth trap. Store the 2nd capsule in the freezer or refrigerator. This allows you to change the bait in the trap halfway through the season.
Monitor Boxwood Moth activity
By monitoring the activity of the Buxus moth using the TOPBUXUS moth trap you can easily predict when new Boxwood caterpillars will hatch in your Boxwood, so you can easily determine the right moment to apply a biological treatment against these caterpillars with TOPBUXUS Anti Caterpillar.
Range of 200 m2 / 2,000 sqft
The pheromone in the moth trap attracts male Boxwood moths in an area of up to 200 square metres / 2,000 square feet.
CAUTION: Do not open pheromone capsule!
The pheromone is embedded in the special capsule, which is slightly porous, allowing controlled release of the pheromone over a period of about 8 weeks. When the cap is removed, the pheromone is released too quickly, shortening the effect.
Description
The Box Tree Moth/Caterpillar Season
The first caterpillar infestation of the season can be expected at the beginning
of spring.
These caterpillars can be treated with TOPBUXUS Anti Caterpillar.
Box tree moths do not yet appear at this stage in the season.
The TOPBUXUS Box Tree Moth Trap is a practical tool to more easily predict
the right timing for the next TOPBUXUS Anti Caterpillar treatments.
Assemble the TOPBUXUS Box Tree Moth Trap according to the instructions.
In the third week of May, place 1 closed pheromone capsule (do not open the capsule)
in the basket and place the basket in the lid of the trap and store the 2nd pheromone capsule in the fridge for later use. Hang the trap in the immediate vicinity of your Boxwood plants. When you spot the first Boxwood moths in the trap, you can expect new caterpillars in your Boxwood plants about 2-4 weeks later. As soon as you spot these caterpillars, repeat treatment
with TOPBUXUS Anti Caterpillar.
In the last week of July, replace the pheromone capsule.
Note: The TOPBUXUS Box Tree Moth Trap is intended to monitor activity of
the Boxwood moth. Using this trap will not prevent caterpillars from appearing
in your Boxwood, treatment with TOPBUXUS Anti Caterpillar remains necessary to control the caterpillars.
